As far back as I can remember being involved in the breeding, rearing and running of greyhounds, the knowledge gained extends back to my fathers (and uncles) interests of whom I would like to share with any individual, some advice on betting.
Many years ago I would go to race tracks just by having a passionate interest in the greyhound, I found myself backing dogs for the sake of the bet. The results were negative on most occasions and I would finish loosing until I began to study and realize the folly of reckless betting.
In future I would set myself a maximum wager of say €5 per race – in the event of a win your bet on the proceeding races you should revert to your original wager of €5.
Do not be avaricious by plundering everything on the next wage! This will give you the opportunity of putting with your winnings with an average chance of profit.
I have no idea about horse racing form however I do know the professional punters can delve into each race using their skill with good results, the same applies to greyhound racing.
Taking into account the each dogs racing form at a first glance of the racing card, look at:
1. Age - A young dog will usually improve where an older one could remain stable if over 3 years of age. 2. Weight 3. Recent and former running 4. Dog or a bitch (male or female) 5. Suitable trap draw 6. Track - there is a difference in the going of every track, finding out this information and compare one against the other. 7. Season - A greyhound will clock faster times in Summer, particularly July & August whereas they will run slower around November & December.
Bitches could run a fast pace in March then come into season which means a spell of about 3 months without competing, after which she will need at least two outings before showing the same performance again. Female greyhounds are more capable of performing well into their fourth year.
I am happy to share my knowledge with you via this website so make sure to visit regularly.
Wishing you every success,
Yours,
Noel. |
